It's Go Time for The PGA Playoffs!

It's hard to believe that the 2015 PGA Season is coming to an end. It's been a season of records, first time winners, multiple winners, changes in who's number one in the world and yes a win by DL3! This season provided crazy finishes, numerous playoffs, aces that paid mortgages, the controversy of Chambers Bay, a Major Chase by Jordan Spieth that may never happen again, a struggling Tiger, a comeback Tiger and much more! So, now that the "PGA Playoffs" tee it up what will we see?

Will Jordan Spieth (World's #1) take charge and bring home another $10 million to go with his $10 million in winnings? Has the Jordan - Rory rivalry started? Will it continue? Who will dominate in The final 4 events? It's there for the taking and the odds appear to be in Jordan's favor!

Will Rory make a statement the he is the Player to Beat now and in the future? Is his ankle 100% and is his game ready for the playoffs? We believe he is motivated, focused, determined and ready to take home The FedEx Cup. Everyone wants a Rory/Jordan Shootout especially RORY! Will he "Hang On" and retake The #1 in The World Status?

What about Jason Day? Did his "Major Victory" give him the confidence he needs to take home The FedEx Cup Too? His game appears to be at a level none of us have seen from Jason! Will the Jordan/Rory rivalry have a 3rd participant? Will that last Sunday of the playoffs be Jason's Day?

Then there's World's number 4 - Bubba! He has all the "shot" to win The FedEx Cup, owns a couple of Green Jackets and hits it a L...O...N...G.... way. I know there are Bubba lovers and haters out there but the bottom line... he's a winner! We think he will be a big factor in deciding the FedEx Cup winner. If he putts well (doesn't start walking before putt is struck) he could add a FedEx Cup to his collection!

So, there's your Top 4 in the World but let's not forget Justin Rose, Jim Furyk, DJ, Rickie and the rest of those who all have a chance of taking The FedEx Cup home. With the "tweaking" of the points we know that anyone can win it if they play well. The days of Camilo winning 2 events and Vijay "just needing to finish are over! THANK YOU FEDEX!

We introduced Jim to the team at Peter Kostis Golf Academy and immediately Jim furnished them with various Orange Whip Products to test and use at their sessions.

Now, it's Go Time for our review on the 47.5"/1.75lb Orange Whip Trainer.

Pros: The Orange Whip Swing Trainer can be used anywhere to build a better swing, optimize tempo, increase flexibility, improve balance and ingrain a proper swing through muscle memory. The feedback is immediate and it's simple to use! 

Cons: The 47.5" Orange Whip Trainer weighs in at 1.75lbs and may not be great for everyone due to length and weight. However, we are sure one of their other models will be excellent for you! Also, at first, extended use of The Orange Whip may cause muscle soreness the first few days!

Performance & Playability: The first few swings with The Orange Whip will make you notice it's heavy, has "whip" to it, has a grip "counter weight" and really gets you moving forward on your front foot to a full finish. The Orange Whip is a perfect way to get loose and engage all the muscles needed in a great golf swing. It will increase your shoulder turn and deliver you to a "pro" position on your follow-thru. Once warmed up the our focus moved to a balanced and in tempo swing. Orange Whip provides numerous exercises to build a better golf swing and there are many videos available as well. We found that making left handed golf swings was both challenging and fun. However, after a few days my swing was noticeably better which says a lot about the product. If a right handed golfer can produce a semi smooth swing left handed just think what this product would do for a new golfer!

Innovation: Jim and The Orange Whip Team have spent years perfecting this product! They have tested different materials, flexes, weights, grips and more. I believe that their current lineup of products are second to none!

Looks & Feel: When you first swing an Orange Whip it may feel awkward, look different and make it hard to complete a "perfect" swing. That's GREAT - it's the Swing Trainer telling you that your swing needs some help! I gave it to a higher handicap player that has an extreme problem hanging back on his right foot in his golf swing. After 15 minutes of using The Orange Whip he went back to his clubs - his balance and finish position was much better! He said "I have fought that issue for many years and can't believe that The Orange Whip taught me the feeling of transferring my weight in just 15 minutes"!

Overview: World’s Hottest Drivers specialize in shaving the face of drivers to increase the C.O.R. (Coefficient of Restitution). This precise milling process allows them to hold extremely tight tolerances and increase the club’s C.O.R. from .860 to .900 based on the player’s needs. Now, is it legal? No. The “Legal” C.O.R. and maximum limit any driver may have according to USGA .830. However, for any weekend golfer looking to add distance off the tee this process is for you! Most golfers (based on swing speed) will gain 20-40 yards on their drives.

Pros: If you wish to gain distance off the tee immediately pack your driver up, ship it to World’s Hottest Drivers, select how “HOT” you want your driver based on your current swing speed and wait for the driver to arrive! Cons: You are now in possession of a driver that is no longer legal based on USGA Standards. There is a risk whenever you play a "shaved" driver of the face cracking.       Your playing partners may ask you to move back a set of tees.

Performance & Playability: We met with Steve Mummert at World’s Hottest Drivers, gave him a Taylormade SLDR for shaving and it was quickly returned for testing. They shaved this driver to .880 COR and also re-grooved the face for us. Our first test was on the range and while it was 10-20 yards longer we couldn’t wait to get it on the course! Off the first tee – an increase of 20-25 yards longer than any drive that I have hit on this hole! The longer drives continued throughout my round and the accuracy of the driver was not affected at all!

Innovation: World’s Hottest Drivers performs this process with the use of a CNC machine that allows them to program the outline of the clubface to maintain the original curvature while it is being machined. The clubface will then be polished to match its original finish. All of the work is performed on the outside of the club. Each driver’s face thickness will be measured at 5 different points before being placed on the CNC machine. The finished thickness will be measured at those same 5 points to ensure the desired specs have been obtained.

Technology: Since 2006, World’s Hottest Drivers has been pioneering the science of golf driver machining. Looks & Feel: Our test driver had a “black coating” on the face and we did lose that but for the added yards off the tee it really didn’t matter! The driver just feels/sounds “Hot” and everyone who has hit it agrees - it’s LONG! I did notice a slightly higher ball flight but that can be changed with settings on the SLDR to produce the optimal trajectory/distance.

Performance & Playability: When it comes to gloves everyone wants a great feel when your hand meets the club and Major Chase provides just that! We asked a number of members to test these gloves and the feedback was very consistent in this category.

Cons: I couldn’t find any! If I had to “stretch” it would be that you have to order via phone or email and there are restrictions on minimum orders.

     " Major Chase Golf Gloves: Not sure if I’m supposed to review these but, these gloves are awesome! Wet/dry, windy, sandy, doesn’t matter… one of the best gloves I have used. I like the simple design (no crazy palm pad, or thumb webbing gimmicks), and actually have decided I will be switching to these gloves completely. I currently use one of the Adidas models, but I can only get a little over a month of use before the seams start to break or rip. After 2 weeks of use, the Major Chase glove is holding up almost as good as it was out of the plastic, minus some rub marks from my grips. Great product!"

Golf Glove: Great feel. Have played a few rounds and unlike some other gloves, this one has not stretched out on my hand. Great fit & tacky feel has kept the club from not turning or slipping in my hand when swinging. This is a glove I would buy in a heartbeat.
